Master's in Business Administration

The Master’s program conveys in-depth knowledge of Business Administration and encourages academic engagement with business-related issues. The program builds on previous knowledge obtained in a Bachelor’s program.

The “Master of Science in Business Administration, Universität Bern” is a mono program and can be completed in a standard study period of three semesters. As a result, it is not possible to take on a minor subject.

Students, who start the Master's degree program in Business Administration from fall semester 2024 onwards, will study according to the plan of studies of February 22, 2024.

Students, who have started the Master's degree program in Business Administration up to and including spring semester 2024, study according to the plan of studies of October 16, 2014.

Individual academic requirements

The following academic qualifications entitle the holder to admission to a mono degree in Business Administration:

a) Bachelor's degree from a Swiss university in Business Administration (mono or major) *
b) Bachelor's degree from a Swiss university with at least 60 ECTS credits obtained in the field of Business Administration *
c) Bachelor's degree from a Swiss university with less than 60 ECTS credits obtained in the field of Business Administration*
d) Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university abroad with at least 60 ECTS credits obtained in the field of Business Administration *
An additional requirement is the successful completion of a GMAT test, minimum score Classic 575, FOCUS 550 for the mathematic (quantitative) and linguistic (verbal) section. The test results must be enclosed within the application portfolio. It is not possible to complete the GMAT test subsequently, i.e. to submit the test results at a later point.

Bachelor's degree from a Swiss university of applied sciences with at least 60 ECTS credits in the field of Business Administration and a minimum grade of 5.0. Direct admission to the Master's degree program in Business Administration. Additional Bachelor's courses in Business Administration worth 30 ECTS credits (admission requirements) must be completed.
With a Bachelor's degree from a Swiss university of applied sciences with at least 60 ECTS credits in the field of Business Administration and an average grade below 5.0, direct admission to the Master's degree program in Business Administration is not possible. Generally, placement into the 5th semester of the Bachelor's program in Business Administration will occur.

* Additional conditions or requirements may be requested (max. 60 ECTS). Requirements are to be met by the end of the student’s Master’s program and conditions have to be satisfied before the student is admitted to the Master’s program. The respective ECTS credits at Bachelor’s level will be disclosed in the Diploma Supplement as extracurricular academic attainments.

The academic degree of relevance for the assessment (Einstufung) must not be more than six years old.
